Truckonnect will be making its debut at DICV in BharatBenz trucks that are 16 tonnes and above as a standard feature. Customers will also have the option to include Truckonnect in vehicles that weigh below 16 tonnes.
The established platform was launched by MFTBC in 2017 and currently services FUSO products in Japan. Truckonnect handles end-to-end connectivity solutions and provides vital vehicle information to fleet owners and managers in real time. Data such as the location of vehicles, the status of fuel consumption, and the overall health of the vehicle can be accessed via the Truckonnect online portal. The features of Truckonnect are great tools to optimize driver performance, increase fuel efficiency, and reduce vehicle downtime through continuous monitoring, resulting in smoother day-to-day business operations. Customers can also rely on the 24/7 customer support from the customer assistance center.

The decision to introduce Truckonnect into BharatBenz vehicles was made due to the strategic collaboration encouraged between separate legal entities MFTBC and DICV under the DTA partnership. This new strategy also illustrates how the two organizations are readily exposed to Daimler Truck technologies. The knowledge collected from MFTBC’s development of the connectivity solution, coupled with the experience from within the Daimler Truck family of brands, is further polished by extensive localization by incorporating domestically sourced hardware and technology specially fine-tuned for the Indian market.
Pre-orders for Truckonnect-installed BharatBenz vehicles will be starting this month with the new product range updated with India’s Bharat Stage VI emissions norms compliance.
