A core element within WABCO University’s comprehensive portfolio of training solutions remains its technical training program that today represents more than three quarters of the total business volume. The most sought after technical training courses worldwide are related to WABCO’s award-winning Intelligent Trailer Program. The Intelligent Trailer Program offers more than 30 different key trailer functions that can help trailer builders, fleet operators or cargo owners decrease transportation costs, save fuel and increase driver safety and comfort.
In 2013, WABCO University further expanded its state-certified TopDriver training program to qualify truck and bus drivers based on European Union regulatory requirements. The program features cost effective training concepts for fleet customers to enhance driver and road safety. Thereby, the TopDriver training program helps to increase fuel efficiency while reducing the number of accidents, related downtimes, and total transportation costs.
“Professionally-trained and responsible drivers are at the core of our business. They maximize uptime and contribute significantly to saving fuel,” said Rico Toepfer, Managing Director, Finsterwalder Transport & Logistik GmbH. “WABCO’s TopDriver training program helps us to meet these targets and improve the quality of our transport services. It’s another important element for the successful and long-term cooperation with our customers. We consider the TopDriver training program as an integral part of our overall business success. WABCO is a top provider of training solutions for us and our industry.”
In addition, the technical training program provides numerous practical and customer-specific training modules, including basic courses in air brake technology, foundation brake systems and electronic systems, as well as system training courses in anti-lock braking systems (ABS), electronic braking systems (EBS), electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS), bus systems, driver safety, and training on local rules and regulations.
