At the Foton 3S Centre in Shah Alam, drivers who come in for servicing or repair works can expect to enjoy themselves at the well-equipped drivers lounge to pass time. Drivers are free to use the facilities provided at the lounge.

Some facilities available at the lounge include pool table, massage chairs and a well-stocked pantry. The drivers can take the opportunity to unwind at the lounge while waiting for their truck to be done.

When met at the facility, Albert Wong, Chief Operating Officer of Mpire Commercial Sdn Bhd said that “We provide a comfortable lounge for the drivers as they are the drivers of the economy. Without truck drivers, the industry will not be able to run. Therefore, we would like to reiterate our stance that drivers are vital in the trucking industry by providing a comfortable and relaxing space for them to unwind. They can even take a shower here before continuing their journey or they can opt for some snacks and drinks from the pantry at no cost at all.”

The driver’s lounge also has a pool table and massage chairs that drivers can use, completely free of charge. The feedback from drivers has also been positive. The drivers that send in their trucks to the Foton workshop are thankful that they have a clean and quiet environment to rest in while waiting for their truck to be done. They can also take a nap as the lounge is usually not busy.

Wong concluded that “it is important for the drivers to be well-rested before they continue the journey. Fatigue can be very dangerous and accidents can happen at any moment when a driver is fatigued. In order to prevent this, we encourage the drivers to take a 30 minute nap at the lounge in order to recharge. As the lounge is usually not very busy, it will be a fitting venue for them to rest and relax.”
