Hino Motors Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd has presented a Reliability Certificate to Petaling Jaya-based logistics firm GD Express Sdn Bhd (GDEX) as one of its trucks has exceeded 1 000 000 km without the need to go through an engine overhaul.

Driven by the pillar of Hino's product philosophy, 'HINO QDR; Driving Quality, Durability," the company is proud to have another truck to prove the value.

"If the company takes good care of the truck, send it for regular servicing, and the drivers drive it carefully, Hino trucks are able to achieve this milestone. In fact, in Thailand, there are some Hino trucks that exceeded 2 000 000 km without the need for an engine overhaul," its managing director Atsushi Uchiyama told Asian Trucker after the launching ceremony held in Petaling Jaya.
The GDEX Hino truck has been operating since 2006 and caters for both long and line haul route of Ayer Keroh and some other southern region. It took more than 10 years for it to clocked up without an engine overhaul.

According to GDEX's managing director Teong Teck Lean, besides the reliability of the product, the well-maintenance including on-time servicing at Hino authorised service centre and the compact used of Hino genuine parts is deemed to be one of the factors contributing to such great achievement.

"Not only proving its product philosophy, this achievement also proves the strength of Hino Total Support Value. The reliability of the truck is not only centred by the fervor of the owner but it also relies on the good after-sales services too.

"To date, we have 12 units of GDEX Hino trucks that have either exceeded the 1 million km mark or close to achieve it. One of the truck has even hit 1 600 000 km and on its way to 2 million km without the need of an engine overhaul," said Teong.

Currently, GDEX owned more than 1,200 units of operating vehicles and 764 units of the vehicles are from Hino. Its express courier services are available in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
