Scania buses are the first choice for east coast tour bus operator, Agensi Pelancungan & Adik Beradik Sdn Bhd in Kuala Terengganu, who received the keys to 13 new coaches on August 13. The handover was held at the Scania Kuala Terengganu service facility in Gong Badak and officiated by Scania Southeast Asia Sales Director Daniel Tan. Receiving the keys was Adik Beradik Managing Director Ariffin Daud.

Ariffin cited the K360IB4x2 buses' performance, reliability, fuel economy, and safety as reasons why the company decided to add the Scania buses for its tour operations throughout Peninsular Malaysia. A Scania customer since 2013, Ariffin added that Scania's after sales services contributes to Adik Beradik's total operating economy and is crucial for their uptime.

The acquired K360IB4x2 buses feature a powerful engine with higher torque at lower revs and are equipped with the Scania Opticruise gear-change technology that promises better comfort while reducing clutch and synchromesh wear.

Financed by Scania Credit Malaysia since 2015, the buses come with the standard package offering of the two-year free Scania Maintenance, two-year free 24/7 Scania Assistance and a 10-year free Fleet Management System (FMS) package. The credit plan eases the overall purchasing process for Scania customers by offering financial-solution packages such as hire purchase and leasing for the acquisition of Scania vehicles that best suit their business plan and budget.

“We are proud to be partners with Agensi Pelancungan & Adik Beradik for its long-haul operations and are indeed very happy that they have once again placed their trust in Scania for the best profitability and sustainability of their business,” Tan said.

Scania also presented an award for best fuel savings to Suwara Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd at the ceremony. The award was in conjunction with the Scania Fleet Management System (Scania FMS) competition and was received by the winner's Managing Director, Wan Md. Zain Wan Abu Bakar.

The Scania FMS is a solutions approach that helps customers make informed decisions when it comes to achieving profitability and efficiency in their businesses. The data gathered from the driver’s performance and the vehicle is then used together with methods such as driver training and coaching to increase the productivity of the fleet including ways to achieve fuel economy and reduce the cost of operations.

The handover and presentation of the award were held in conjunction with the Scania Open Day, which served as an opportunity for family members of the staff to see the daily activities that take place at the workplace.
