Malaysian-based SME, MN Fuel Solutions Sdn Bhd launched its emulsified diesel, known as Kleen Diesel, which complies to the European standards and can reduce emission by up to 88 percent yesterday. This follows a eight year period of R&D.

As a "technofund" recipient from the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), MN Fuel Solutions under the leadership of Managing Director Marizan Nor, began research and development (R&D) in 2009. They studied and designed an emulsified diesel which is suitable for the Malaysian market.

"We are committed to create a greener ecosystem by unveiling this emulsified diesel which will be a cheaper and greener alternative. The Kleen Diesel is produced through high sheering homogenisation process of Diesel Euro 2M, RO water and surfactant," Marizan said.

To meet growing industry demands, MN Fuel Solutions launched the Kleen Diesel W10 exclusively for the transportation sector and Kleen Diesel W20 for fogging activities. According to Marizan, Kleen Diesel was proven to be more superior than regular diesel as it is cheaper, reduces emission and gives more mileage while there is no need to modify the vehicles' engines.

"The market today is very competitive where consumers and industry players are always on the lookout for ways to reduce operations costs and embrace the green energy initiative. Our Kleen Diesel W10 series is the best solution for fleet owners or any industrial diesel consumers, as it is relatively cheaper than the standard diesel.

"At the same time, users are helping the environment without having to incur additional cost of replacing their fleets or perform modifications on their vehicle," he added.

Also present at the launch was Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Norhalim Yunus. "I look forward to more entrepreneurs in Malaysia taking part in the challenge of the industry by conducting more R&D and also producing more solutions which will elevate the industry," he said.

MN Fuel Solutions has attained industry experiences by conducting actual fuel trials with clients to monitor the usage and performance of Kleen Diesel on their assets. To date, the company has worked alongside various private fleet owners and city councils in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
