In conjunction with Thaipusam festivities happening this upcoming Monday, Rapid KL has introduced two special and “limited-time only” routes for devotees and visitors to the Batu Caves temple in Gombak District. This two day only service will run from 20th January to 21st January.

In a release to the media, Rapid KL said the service was introduced to encourage visitors to the temple to use public transport as well as to reduce congestion within the area. As many as 18 buses have been prepared to ply the routes from Pasar Seni to Batu Caves through Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Kuching. The buses will run every 10 to fifteen minutes.

Furthermore, two more buses have been prepared to run the routes from the Gombak LRT to Batu Caves through MRR2 with a frequency of thirty to forty five minutes between each bus. A one-way ticket from Pasar Seni will cost RM3 while the fare from Gombak LRT will set commuters back by RM2. All payments are to be made in cash only. Buses on both routes will run from 5AM to 12 midnight.
